How it works
P. acnes bacteria produce porphyrins — light-sensitive molecules. When the Iris Acne applicator delivers IPL in the blue spectrum (around 420nm), the porphyrins absorb the light and produce singlet oxygen — a molecule that destroys the bacterial cell.
