The electrologist inserts a fine, hair-thin sterile probe into the natural opening of the hair follicle — the probe does not pierce the skin. Once positioned at the base of the follicle, a brief electrical current is applied: in thermolysis, the current generates localised heat that coagulates and destroys the hair matrix cells; in galvanic method, a direct current produces a chemical that destroys the follicle; the blend combines both for maximum effectiveness.
